In this summer vacation, on the German island Langeoog, my KAP equipment exists out of two different Flow Form kites with 1.75 and 3.2 m² of area, the hexagon "Ghost Buster" and my new Rig # 4 with the SONY digital camera DSC P5.
Part # 1: Protection for the dune in the Pirolatal
Part # 2: 130.000 m³ sand for the new dune fastening in the Pirolatal
Part # 3: If the water goes: Wreck and texture in the
sand
Part # 4: What else? Hospiz of the cloister Loccum,
hay bale, golf course ...
Dune protection from the year 1972 on the beach from the Pirolatal:
They had a try to protect the dunes of the island Langeoog in the year 1972
by sand filled fabric tubes like the wood or stone groynes on other islands.
This test was not good and about the appearance of wood groynes or these fabric
bags you also can be of shared opinion. The tubes partly were undermined and on
flow conditions in front of the island, they appear here and once there again of
the sand.
Looked from the air, they offer interesting motives.

Development of the dunes in the Pirolatal:
The following pictures show the development of the dunes in the area of the
Pirolatal within the years 2000 - 2002. Special from 2000 to 2001 a demolition
of the nature dunes is to recognize. To prevented a breaking through of the
North Sea in winter 2002 / 2003, the back area must be strengthened. Clearly on
the right photo.
