This year, we are the third time at the danish island FANO at the 15th international Kiteflyer-Meeting, the biggest kitemeeting at the world. Here I startet my first attempt with KAP. The kite, that I used was my 1,7 m hexagon "Ghost Buster".

At the viewpoint-dune "Palebjerg" (FANO 06.15.1999)

About 5km at south of the place FANO-BAD there is the Palebjerg. It is a specially high dune that you can use as a viewpoint. At this place came only a few kiteflyers. After we found a startingplace for the kite, I started with building up the kite. The wind was just enaugh and the kite was standing very smoothly in the sky. My wife has had the job to control the kiteline, while I was standing under the kite with the transmitter. This three pictures are in the direktion to the beach.

In the area of the marsh, there is a bigger pool. This pool is filled with searoses. An interest KAP-object. We started the kite from the way and my wife controlled the kite agin. I gave her orders whith my hands to catch or leave out the line to put the kit at the right position. I was standing ot the edge of the pool. You can see me in the left hand corner of the right picture.

Pictures at the beach at FANO BAD. At the left picture there you can see the Hotel DANLAND. This hotel seems not to be finished. At the middle: Me and my whife in the evening sun whith long shadows. At the right picture there you can see the continent with Esbjerg. In the left corner the villa Ninja. In front there is a big octopus.

Kite: 1,7m Hexagon "Ghost Buster"
Film: FUJI 200, Camera: Olympus AF-1

At the left picture there are kites from Peter Rieleit from Düsseldorf, Germany. He expperiments with different stickless kites. A lot of his kites are well-known and always seen on kitemeetings. For an example his "Superfly" or the banana. In the middle, there is a picture taken along the beech in north-, at left in south direktion. The right picture was taken against the sun, so the picture is not very well.
We have gone to the buggy-race then. After the race we would take some more pictures of the flying kites. But the windspeed was above 8m/s now and my KAP-kite did´t fly any more. You must have different kites in different sizes for low and high windspeed. Charles Benton uses Sutton Flowform kites in different sizes. They are stickless and you can easy take some of them in your bag at once.
