Before the Christmas Days I had some days off and wanted to use these to take some photographs of the sunrise from the top of the waste dump from the Prosper Haniel coal mine. No breeze moved before 8:00 am and so the 3 degrees below zero weren't to feel. Despite the low wind I have my Kite and KAP-Equipment taken with me, you can never know....

Already for many years a way exists on the mound. The stations are represented with mining objects. It ends at a big wooden cross on the plateau. There is an open-air theater on the mound above now and an art object from finished train thresholds as a background scenery. I have used them as a foreground for the sunrise.

After it had become more brightly also the wind has refreshed and I have taken the kite to make some aerial photos. The Spanish sculptor "Agustin Ibarrola" has an art object installed on the waste dump from over 100 train thresholds. The "totems" are worked different and painted with glaring colors. So they form a visual contrast to the dreary gray of the mound surface.

The circular open-air theater lies in a sheltered place in a little deeper part of the mound and takes hold of approx. 700 persons. The art installation from over 100 totems delimits this part of the mound and forms a background as an eye-catcher at the same time.
