In the middle of the Wittringer woods the great Memorial of Gladbeck was opened in 1934. It is dedicated to the dead bodies of the two World Wars (1914-1918 / 1939 - 1945) and it carries the names of fallen people on many stone panels inside.

The saying frieze inside the Memorial bears the inscription:

"1914 - 1918 TO THE HONOR OF THE DEAD BODIES OF THE WARS 1939 - 1945"

A sculpture made of high-grade steel stands in front of the Memorial. A part of the speech of the Federal President "Weizsäcker" to May 8th, 1985 was engraved here. This was the first official talk in which the homosexuals as the victim were also worthy. This sculpture can be seen on the middle photo, in front of the stairs to the water.

Here it was not quite simply to start the Flow form #1 from this of trees surrounded playing meadow (right photo). I must repeatedly wait for a gust of wind which fills the Kite with air and forms it to make a start possible. Once it finally then has opened and I could pull the Kite over the treetops into the "right" wind at the fifth one. Then from there it worked quite good. Although I had to leave the Kite more highly than otherwise, when I was putting the Picavet into the kiteline. With the SONY P5 I then have made approx. 130 photos at two starts.
